The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather warning through Thursday for parts of Clark County.

An abundant of lightning that is forecasted along the Cascades and foothills in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington could increase the risk of forest fires in the area, which includes parts of Clark, Cowlitz and Skamania Counties. According to the National Weather Service, the area east of Battle Ground is the portion of Clark County that is part of the warning.

The weather agency reminds Clark County residents of the burn ban in place through September 30, which allows recreational burns but puts a ban on land clearing, residential and agricultural burns.
