Letter: Truth is in details of time line

The Columbian
Published: May 31, 2013, 5:00pm

In response to Celia Louderback’s May 23 letter “The rest of the story on Benghazi,” and her statement “It is little known that the Republican Congress cut the 2012 budget for security of consulates and embassies by more than $300 million.” It is also little known that in spite of this cut that when our Benghazi consulate was attacked, all necessary personnel and equipment was available in unfettered supply had the several calls for help actually been acted upon sooner by this White House. To imply that the budget cut in any way affected our timely response to the Benghazi situation is partisan, dishonest and misleading at best.

In our search for truth and enlightenment as to how four brave American patriots lost their lives, throwing out “red herrings” does not add to our attempts to get truthful answers. That is the rest of the Benghazi budget story.
