Letter: IRS scrutiny impacted election

The Columbian
Published: June 1, 2013, 5:00pm

The May 28 editorial cartoon leads one to believe the Tea Party was filling the coffers of the Republican candidates. In reality, they didn’t get a chance. The cartoon ignores the equally numerous Democrat nonprofit groups who were not subjected to the IRS’s unreasonable and unwarranted scrutiny. They were the ones who filled the coffers of the Democrat candidates during the election. The Tea Party was unable to be competitive as a result of the IRS actions. Very unfortunate.
