BEND, Ore. — An Oregon woman agreed to relinquish 20 cats and a dog that authorities seized because of unhealthy living conditions.
The Bulletin newspaper reports Catherine Hicks was charged with more than two dozen counts of animal neglect after authorities were called to her Redmond trailer in April.
A forfeiture petition filed in Deschutes County says neighbors described a strong odor of urine and feces, and swarms of flies.
According to the petition, all the cats had respiratory infections, 10 had eye infections, three had untreated open wounds and two needed dental care.
