The Vancouver Police Department’s Safe Streets Task Force is investigating Friday’s stabbing at a Rose Village apartment as a gang-related incident, according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

The male victim was taken to an area hospital after police were called to a small complex at 3200 Bridge St. about 5:30 p.m. He was listed in critical condition that night. His current condition was not available.

The identity of the victim is not being released because of the potential gang affiliation.

“We don’t want to put anyone else’s safety on the line … until we know a little more about what precipitated the situation,” Kapp said.

The victim is not being very cooperative with police, Kapp said. The investigation is ongoing.
