PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Daniel Hudson has re-torn the ligament in his right elbow, and the team says its staff is exploring all medical options.

That potentially includes a second Tommy John reconstructive surgery.

Hudson had his first such surgery last July and had progressed to the point of making a rehab start Tuesday for Double-A Mobile. But he left the mound after feeling stiffness in the elbow, and the subsequent exam in Phoenix uncovered the second tear.

Two seasons ago, Hudson was 16-12 with a 3.49 ERA. Last season, he struggled to a 3-2 mark with a 7.35 ERA before the elbow injury was discovered.
