LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have scratched left-hander Ted Lilly from his scheduled start on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves and placed the 37-year-old left-hander on the 15-day disabled list because of a neck sprain.

This is Lilly’s third trip this season to the DL, which is retroactive to June 5. He has made only five starts, going 0-2 with a 5.09 ERA. He missed the first 19 games while recovering from left shoulder surgery, and also was sidelined for 17 games from April 30 to May 20 with a strain in his right rib cage.

Rookie right-hander Matt Magill was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to start the series finale against Atlanta. The 23-year-old right-hander, who made his major league debut on April 27, pitched for the Dodgers last Sunday in a spot start at Colorado and allowed six earned runs over six innings in a 7-2 defeat.
