WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals have recalled first baseman-outfielder Chris Marrero from Triple-A Syracuse as their extra player for their day-night doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins.
Marrero was batting .306 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs with Syracuse.
Marrero played in 31 games with the Nationals in 2011, hitting .248 with 10 RBIs.
He was Washington’s first-round selection at No. 15 overall in the 2006 draft.
