Battle Ground Public Schools board members announced they are likely to use a professional search firm to find a replacement for Shonny Bria, the superintendent who is retiring June 30.

Bria announced her retirement at the April 29 school board meeting. She’s been superintendent of the district for the past 15 years. Bria has two years remaining on her contract.

John Idsinga, school board president, said Bria is receiving the same treatment as any retiring district employee. She is eligible to sell back her unused vacation, sick leave and personal days. Bria earns 36 vacation days per year.

Bria’s salary is $154,000 annually excluding mileage and benefits. Battle Ground is the third-largest school district in Clark County, after the Evergreen and Vancouver districts.
