Vancouver USA Marathon to affect C-Tran routes

Sunday’s Vancouver USA Marathon will prevent several C-Tran bus routes from accessing downtown for most of the day, the agency announced. At least seven routes, plus the C-Van paratransit service, will be on detours or limited routes from 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, C-Tran said.

The marathon will affect routes 2, 3, 4, 25, 30, 32 and 37. Vehicles won’t be able to reach downtown south of Fourth Plain Boulevard and west of Fort Vancouver Way, according to C-Tran.

The No. 4 route will still provide limited access to Jantzen Beach via Interstate 5, but riders will have to transfer onto the bus at the Vancouver Division of the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center off Fourth Plain. Access to Seventh and Washington streets will be maintained by a shuttle connecting with Jantzen Beach, but no other stops will be served in downtown during the marathon, according to C-Tran.

Details and detour maps are at http://www.c-tran.com. Passengers can also call C-Tran’s passenger service line at 360-695-0123.

The event’s three races — the marathon, a half-marathon and a 5,000-meter run — start and finish at Esther Short Park.
