EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings are playing coy about their interest in linebacker Desmond Bishop.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier declined after minicamp practice Tuesday to confirm that Bishop was visiting with the team. After Bishop was released by the rival Green Bay Packers on Monday, the seventh-year veteran told several Wisconsin media outlets he planned to speak with the Vikings in Minnesota.

Frazier said he didn’t want to “verify any reports” and that any free agents brought in for workouts are “no reflection on our team.” The Vikings have moved Erin Henderson from his outside spot to middle linebacker, but wherever Henderson plays there will still be one position in that group left unproven.

Bishop became a starter at inside linebacker for the Packers in 2010, his breakout season.
