SPOKANE — A Gonzaga law student has pleaded guilty to hit and run and vehicular assault in a case in which he crashed into a bicyclist.

Timmy Ngoc Nguyen, 23, was sentenced Monday to one year in prison by Spokane County Superior Court Judge Linda Tompkins.

The Spokesman-Review says Nguyen was also ordered to pay more than $37,000 in restitution.

Last year, he crashed his vehicle into a bicycle and trailer ridden by Danny Packard and his young daughter. The girl suffered a fractured skull and wrist, but has since recovered.
