STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs beat four-time NCAA champion Kyle Dake 7-0, 8-6 Friday in the U.S. World Team Trials.

Burroughs improved to 55-0 on the senior level while advancing to the FILA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, in September.

Dake was seeded fifth at 74 kilograms (163.14 pounds). The former Cornell star beat Trent Paulson, David Taylor and Andrew Howe to earn a shot at Burroughs in a best-of-three final. He is the only wrestler in NCAA history to win titles at four separate weights.

Burroughs opened with a 7-0 technical fall in the first match. Dake pushed Burroughs to overtime in the second match, but Burroughs scored two points on a scramble to clinch the win.

Burroughs won the world title in 2011 before taking gold at the London Games.
