Letter: Constituents want affordable care

U.S. Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has voted to abolish Obamacare multiple times. Yet she refuses to explain or justify those votes to the uninsured in her district who are anxiously looking forward to finally being able to purchase affordable health insurance effective Jan. 1.

I can only conclude by her votes that she is indifferent to folks who would still be uninsured if one of her “nay” votes had become law. Perhaps she believes that the currently uninsured should just stay that way for some time longer. Her continued silence about these votes does a great disservice to those who want health insurance but can’t afford it.

Her recent health care questionnaire sent to voters left out any mention of, or room to comment upon, her many “no” votes.
