The Vancouver Volcanoes overcame a 13-point deficit to beat the Seattle Flight 106-100 in International Basketball League action Sunday at Pierce College in Lakewood.

Vancouver (13-4) was led by Andre Murray’s 23 points, and 22 points each from Garrett Sim and Paul Hafford. Chehales Tapscott turned in a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Seattle (0-3), an IBL branding team playing a limited schedule this season, had a 24-19 lead after the first quarter.

Vancouver closed the gap at halftime to 47-43 but struggled with its shooting, making just 35 percent.

Seattle’s biggest lead was 61-48 in the third quarter before the Volcanoes rallied back for the victory.

Seattle’s Jerry Petty led all scorers with 30 points.

Vancouver has two regular-season games remaining. They are scheduled to play the East Bay Pit Bulls on Friday at Las Positas College in Livermore, Calif., and close out with the Japan Nippon Tornadoes next Sunday at the O’Connell Center.
