SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — The three winners of this year’s Triple Crown races will be in town for the summer season at Saratoga Race Course as it marks the 150th anniversary of thoroughbred racing in Saratoga Springs.

The New York Racing Association officials say Orb, Oxbow and Palace Malice will be working out in Saratoga this summer and they hope all three will be entered in the Travers Stakes on Aug. 24. It wasn’t initially known which races they’ll run. NYRA (NYE’-ruh) held a news conference Monday for the 40-day racing meet, which opens July 19 and runs through Labor Day.

The first organized thoroughbred races were held in Saratoga on Aug. 3, 1863.

NYRA announced last week that it has named Christopher Kay as its next president and CEO.
