Two boys drowned in weekend accidents in Western Washington waters.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office says an 8-year-old Auburn boy drowned Sunday at Lake Roesiger. He had been swimming at a family gathering when he sank out of sight. Divers found him about 45 minutes later in 27 feet of water. He could not be revived. The medical examiner's office did not immediately release his name.

On Saturday, an 8-year-old drowned in the White River at a campground in Mount Rainier National Park. The Pierce County medical examiner's office says Ahmad Asiri is from Saudi Arabia and his family was visiting the Seattle area. The News Tribune reports he fell off a log into the water. Rangers found his body but could not revive him.
