Police are warning the public about a woman who allegedly steals from elderly people in Vancouver by convincing them to let her into their homes.

Over the past six weeks, the Vancouver Police Department has taken multiple reports of a similar incident: The suspect asks to use the phone, comes inside, and when she leaves, the residents find their wallet, purse or money missing. Most of the victims are in their 70s and 80s.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build and shoulder-length brown hair. Surveillance footage captured the suspect leaving a residence on June 20. At the time, she was wearing blue jeans and a blue t-shirt.

Police say she may be associated with a red Suburban SUV.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact Officer Jeff Miller on the tip line at 360-487-7399 or by email at jeff.miller@cityofvancouver.us.
