PORTLAND — The search continues on Mount Hood for Salem dentist Kinley Adams who failed to return Saturday from a climb.

Bad weather and poor visibility forced volunteers to suspend Monday’s search and they’re hoping for skies to clear Tuesday. An Oregon Army National Guard helicopter is standing by.

Mount Hood is the tallest mountain in Oregon at 11,239 feet and a popular climbing destination.

The 59-year-old Adams is described as an experienced climber.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating a search by Portland Mountain Rescue, volunteers from Mountain Wave Communications, American Medical Response Reach and Treat Team, and Hood River Crag Rats.
