PORTLAND — The weather has again derailed the search for a climber missing on Mount Hood.

Portland Mountain Rescue spokesman Mark Morford says Tuesday’s rain, snow and poor visibility stopped rescue volunteers from reaching the part of the mountain where they believe they have the best chance of finding Kinley Adams.

The 59-year-old Salem dentist failed to return from a climb on Saturday.

The search is expected to resume Wednesday, but a break in the weather may not come until the following day.

Adams is an experienced climber and his wife, Lorraine, expressed optimism her husband is alive in a snow cave.

She told reporters on the mountain that her husband is probably cold and wet, but she’s confident he can handle it.
