The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office says two people from Grandview have been arrested in the death of a Prosser man whose remains were found June 18 in his burned-out car near Sunnyside.

The sheriff’s office says detectives arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man Tuesday night after talking with associates of the victim.

Investigators believe the homicide occurred in Benton County, rather than Yakima County.

The coroner identified the victim as 22-year-old Preston Yahne. Yahne’s family had reported him missing.

He had recently returned to Prosser after four years in the Air Force. The cause of death is still under investigation.

A tow truck driver was removing the charred car from private property when he discovered a skull and bones in the trunk.
