MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have selected power forward Joffrey Lauvergne, from Partizan in the Adriatic League with the 55th pick in Thursday’s draft.
Lauvergne, 6-foot-11, 235 pounds, was not expected to stay with the Grizzlies. The 55th pick was part of a proposed trade that would send the rights to Lauvergne and forward Darrell Arthur to Denver for center Kosta Koufous.
Lauvergne averaged 5.2 points and 3.4 rebounds for Partizan last season, but did shoot 70 percent from the field.
