LONDON (AP) — The Iowa Hawkeyes will play the London Lions in August at Copper Box Arena in the first basketball game at the Olympic Park since last year’s games.

The Lions, eighth last season in the British Basketball League, are playing their first game at their new home on Aug. 14.

Lions coach Vince Macaulay says on Friday, “We are delighted to have such a respected university as our first opponents at the Copper Box Arena. It’s just the kind of test we need to get the ball rolling.”

Iowa did not make the NCAA tournament last season, but reached the final of the National Invitation Tournament and lost to Baylor to finish with a 25-13 record.
