Letter: Cellphone use on planes irritating

The Columbian
Published: June 26, 2013, 5:00pm

A June 22 story stated that the “FAA nears allowing cellphones during flights.” The Federal Aviation Administration is closer to approving electronic devices when the aircraft is in flight, which of course includes cellphones.

Presently, it is so irritating to hear cellphone users when boarding the aircraft, each speaking on a cellphone with one hand while trying to put their oversized bag with the other hand in the overhead bin.

Well, there will be trouble in the skies, I predict, and that will be between passengers.

That trouble will be between those who want a quiet and pleasant trip, and the obnoxious cellphone users who are loudly speaking on the phone so everyone can hear how “important” they are.

OK, FAA, go ahead and approve this issue and let the fights begin.

Cellphones, no; other electronic devices, OK.
