EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Jamaica’s Warren Weir won the 200 meters in a wind-aided 19.90 seconds Saturday in the Edmonton International Track Classic, becoming the first sprinter to break 20 seconds in Canada.

“I’m pleased with the time, not so much with the wind,” Weir said. “Other than the wind it was an excellent day.”

Americans dominated in the other sprints. Shalonda Solomon won the women’s 200 in 22.41, Rakieem Saleem took the 100 in 10.00, and LaShauntea Moore wom the women’s race in 10.98.
