UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Phoenix guard Penny Taylor made her season debut against Connecticut on Saturday night.

Taylor missed the first 10 games while recovering from a torn ACL in her left knee that she sustained in April 2012 while playing for her Turkish club team.

She sat out all last season and has been working the knee back slowly.

The Australian star didn’t start, but entered the game with 4:40 left in the first quarter and the Mercury leading the Sun 16-9. A minute later she scored her first points, connecting on two free throws. She added her first basket of the season soon after, making a layup.

Taylor has won two WNBA championship titles with Phoenix and is a three-time league All-Star.
