Berger wins biathlon World Cup sprint race

OSLO, Norway (AP) — Tora Berger of Norway widened her biathlon World Cup lead by winning the women’s 7.5-kilometer sprint on the Holmenkollen course in Oslo on Friday.

Berger, who won four gold medals and one silver at the world championships last month, shot clean to win in 21 minutes, 31.2 seconds.

Darya Domracheva of Belarus finished 12 seconds behind and Anastasiya Kuzmina came in third, half a minute behind Berger. Both missed two shots.

Berger tops the World Cup standings with 949 points, while Domracheva is second with 660 and Germany’s Andrea Henkel third with 638.
