Letter: Promote the value of education

The Columbian
Published: February 28, 2013, 4:00pm

In response to the Feb. 21 Columbian story “Fear follows B.G. levy failure,” why is it that so many other countries with far less money than America have such high test scores, and America ranks so low overall in education?

Wake up everyone, it has nothing to do with money and everything to do with American values.

What could possibly be more important than the education of our children? And the next time you want to blame the public school system or teachers, ask yourself when was the last time you helped your child with homework? And how much time do you spend on homework with your child?

Let a stay-at-home mom balance America’s budget, then you’ll see just how far a dollar can stretch.
