Drexel beats UNC Wilmington 62-46 in season finale

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Daryl McCoy had a double-double, 13 points and 17 rebounds, as Drexel pulled away to beat UNC Wilmington 62-46 Saturday night in the season finale for both teams.

Damion Lee scored 12 points and Derrick Thomas added 11 to help Drexel (13-17, 9-9 Colonial Athletic Association) win its second in a row.

Ahead 31-29 early in the second half, Drexel used a 25-8 run, capped by a pair of free throws by Frantz Massenat, to extend its lead to 56-37 with 6:16 remaining. The Dragons led by double figures the rest of the way.

Dartaye Ruffin added 14 boards, helping Drexel outrebound UNC Wilmington 58-26 and outscore the Seahawks 18-0 on second-chance points.

Drexel made 19 of 25 free throws for the game while UNC Wilmington shot 41.7 percent (5 of 12) from the foul line.

Keith Rendleman finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Seahawks (10-20, 5-13).
