UC Santa Barbara beats Cal State Northridge 83-74

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Alan Williams scored 32 points including a 10 for 13 performance from the free-throw line and grabbed 16 rebounds for UC Santa Barbara in a 83-74 victory over Cal State Northridge on Saturday night.

Kyle Boswell had 18 points off the bench, Michael Bryson had 14 and the Gauchos shot 50.8 percent from the field, knocking down 30 of 59 shot attempts. UC Santa Barbara (9-19, 5-11 Big West) was 17 of 22 from the line and had 18 assists as a team.

UC Santa Barbara had lost nine of its last 10 games including four straight before the win over the Matadors.

Josh Greene had 25 points on 8-of-19 shooting to lead Cal State Northridge (13-17, 4-13), which have lost six straight.

Landon Drew scored 11 points and Stephen Maxwell had five points and 10 rebounds for the Matadors, which hit 10 3-pointers and were 12 of 13 from the free-throw line.
