Missing Portland toddler found safe

PORTLAND — Police say a toddler reported missing from a southeast Portland home has been found safe.

Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau says the child was found Tuesday morning in the front yard of a different home. The child was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

Simpson says investigators are not yet ready to release more information.

Officers received the report of a missing toddler at 2 a.m., and the child was found more than five hours later.
