Five Evergreen district schools were put on lockdown for about 90 minutes Wednesday morning following a rumor of a gun at Evergreen High School.
The lockdown was lifted at 11:30 a.m. after police investigated but found no threats.
A Vancouver police school resource officer, who is stationed at Evergreen High School, received third-party information of a gun rumored to be on campus just after 10 a.m., Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.
During the police investigation, which included a sweep of the school, the high school was placed on lockdown along with four other Evergreen district schools: Cascade Middle School, Legacy High School, Burton Elementary School and the Early Childhood Center.
“Police failed to identify any credible threats during their investigation,” school district spokesman Kris Fay said. “It turned out to be nothing.”
Kapp said that even though there was no threat, police are continuing their investigation into the report.
