‘Marijuana Anonymous’ group meets Mondays
Wednesday, March 6, 2013
If you are trying to quit marijuana, a new 12-step support group may offer some help.
Marijuana Anonymous, a nationwide grass-roots group based in California with a regional satellite in Portland, has just started a weekly meeting in west Vancouver. The group operates according to the same principles as Alcoholics Anonymous: admission of addiction, reliance on peer support and sponsorship, and faith in a higher power.
The meetings are 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 426 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. Meetings are downstairs in the Youth Room. There are no dues or fees for membership; voluntary contributions are collected at each meeting. Drop-ins are welcome, but please be aware that the main guideline of all “Anonymous” groups is privacy and confidentiality.
