The Friends of Educational Opportunities for Children and Families are looking for some champions to thank.

People who work or volunteer on the front lines or behind the scenes in early education in Clark County are eligible to be nominated for the organization’s second annual Early Learning Champion Awards. Six awards will be presented at a luncheon on May 9; nominations are due by Tuesday.

The six awards are for public advocacy (“Champion Award”); staff person of the year; volunteer of the year; community partner (likely a nonprofit); business partner; and overall leadership (the “Alan Ham Leadership Award”).

Information and nomination forms are available at the EOCF website. Call Wayne Clemetson or Bobbi Ayers with questions at 360-567-2750 or 360-567-2701.

The luncheon will be held at noon May 9 at Club Green Meadows; registration is not open yet. The sponsoring organization, Friends of EOCF, is an independent community group of past and present employees, board members and other supporters of education from birth through five years.
