HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Brandon Peterson had 18 points and 17 rebounds and Ed Townsel scored 19 points off the bench as Arkansas State held off Troy 68-63 in overtime Saturday in the second round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament.

The second-seeded Red Wolves (19-11) advance to face sixth-seeded Western Kentucky in the semifinals on Sunday.

Hunter Williams led No. 10 seed Troy (12-21) with 15 points and five assists. Antoine Myers added 12 points for the Trojans, who were playing their second straight overtime game after defeating seventh-seeded Florida Atlantic 81-79 in a first-round game Friday.

Arkansas State hit just 4 of 22 3-pointers but compensated by sinking 22 of 30 free throws. Troy, on the other hand, was 9 of 18 beyond the arc but just 8 of 13 at the foul line.

The teams split the regular-season series with each winning on its home court.
