Prep highlights: Clevidence stars in Heritage’s win

Dakota Clevidence went 4 for 4 with three home runs and nine RBI as the Heritage baseball team beat Columbia River 17-12 in a non-league game on Saturday.

Clevidence also picked up the victory with two innings of relief, striking out five Chieftains.

Tim Hergert went 2 for 3 with a triple, four runs and three RBI for the Timberwolves.

Oscar Golberg went 4 for 4 with two doubles and five RBI for Columbia River.

Stars of the day

  • Baseball: JT Kaul pitched five shutout innings, giving up one hit in Mountain View’s 3-1 loss to Thomas Jefferson of Auburn in eight innings. Kaul struck out six, and went 2 for 3 from the plate.
  • Baseball: Jamison Beni-tez went 2 for 3 with two runs, two RBI and a double for La Center in a 12-2 win over Washougal. Benitez also threw two shutout innings of relief.
  • Baseball: Chris Penner, Cody Seaman and Rutger Bialkowsky combined on a no-hitter in Stevenson’s 10-1 win over Lyle.
  • Boys soccer: Houston Taie scored both of Camas’ goals in the Papermakers’ 3-2 loss to Skyline.
