SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Chargers agreed to terms with tight end John Phillips and tackle King Dunlap on the opening day of free agency while losing right guard Louis Vasquez to the AFC West rival Denver Broncos.

The Chargers also claimed running back Fozzy Whittaker off waivers from Arizona.

New general manager Tom Telesco says the Chargers wanted Vasquez back but didn’t get much feedback from the player or his agent.

Dunlap has played left and right tackle.

Telesco says Johnnie Troutman is a possibility at right guard. Troutman missed last season with an injury.

Although the Chargers have numerous holes to fill, Telesco says, “We’ll be all right moving forward.”
