PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Ian Hummer scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half and Princeton pulled away in the final 5 minutes to beat Pennsylvania 71-58 Tuesday night in the teams’ regular-season finale.

A 3-pointer with 5:04 remaining by T.J. Bray, who scored 13 points, gave the Tigers (17-11, 10-4 Ivy League) a 56-51 lead. Hummer followed with a three-point play for the game’s largest lead to that point.

The Tigers finished second in the league to Harvard but lost their chance at the title with losses to Yale and Brown last weekend.

Tony Hicks scored 17 of his 22 points for the Quakers (9-22, 6-8) in the first half, which ended tied 32-32. He made 7 of his first 8 shots but was 2 of 11 afterward.

Hummer, Princeton’s No. 2 career scorer, climbed to 18th on the Ivy League career list with 1,625 points, passing Chet Forte (Columbia, 1954-57).
