Riveridge -- Fran Rutherford, leader or co-leader of the Riveridge Neighborhood Association since 1998, stepped down at the January meeting. Residents thanked Rutherford for years of diligent service with flowers, cookies and a new watch. Rutherford will stay in the neighborhood and continue to have a leadership role as newsletter editor at least through the end of this year.
"I've always appreciated your support and willingness to help," said Rutherford's farewell message in the Riveridge newsletter. "Your contributions were and continue to be invaluable."
Meanwhile, the January Riveridge meeting also voted in Suzanne Mickelson as the 2013 chairwoman, Wayne Yamashita as treasurer and Kareen Messerschmidt as secretary.
