Battle Ground school district parents Stephanie Etulain and Peter Van Nortwick have formed a new political committee, “I Believe in Battle Ground Schools,” with a goal to build pride for Battle Ground schools and to motivate voters to pass the maintenance and operations levy. The levy failed Feb. 12, but will be put before voters for a second try on April 23.

The committee is not affiliated with the school board or its affiliate, Battle Ground Citizens For Better Schools.

“The most cost-effective course for taxpayers in the long run is to pass this levy,” said Van Nortwick, the Clark County assessor and the new organization’s treasurer.
