McInerney scores to lead Union past Revolution

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Jack McInerney scored in the 76th minute to give the Philadelphia Union a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution in cold conditions Saturday.

McInerney also scored the winning goal in the Union’s last game, a 2-1 victory Sunday at Colorado.

The Union improved to 2-1-0 and are 5-0-3 in against the Revolution in franchise history.

New England was coming off a 1-0 victory at Chicago in its opener. Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis sat out Saturdat because of a groin injury and was replaced by Bobby Shuttleworth.
