Has any study been made concerning light rail vs. express buses on the Columbia River Crossing? Costs, long-term benefits, and impact, etc.? I often take the express bus that runs between the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center and the Parkrose Transit Center to pick up the Red Line MAX into Portland, and it works great. I think the same could work between a transit center in Vancouver and Delta Park, or farther.
One advantage would be flexibility. Bus routes can be changed and adjusted as may be needed, whereas once the rail lines are laid down, that’s about it. Food for thought.
