C-Tran approves new union contract

The Columbian
Published:

The C-Tran Board of Directors on Tuesday approved a four-year employment contract for its represented supervisors and analysts.

The agreement gives the newly formed union group wage increases for at least the next two years. Supervisors will receive an average pay increase of 4.7 percent both years. Analysts’ pay will increase by an average of 4.7 percent the first year, and 5.3 percent the second year, according to C-Tran. Pay will be negotiated for years three and four of the contract.

Prior to the agreement, the group had not received a pay increase since January 2009.

The C-Tran analyst/supervisor group, represented by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 757, includes 22 employees — 19 supervisors and three analysts.

C-Tran’s represented supervisors are paid a monthly salary of $5,089 to $6,134, or about $61,000 to $73,600 per year. Analysts make $19.67 to $31.17 per hour, or about $41,000 to $65,000 per year.

The contract was approved by a 6-3 vote. Clark County Commissioners David Madore and Tom Mielke and Washougal City Council member Connie Jo Freeman voted no.
