Barbecue to benefit police-dog unit

The International Air and Hospitality Academy is holding a barbecue lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday to benefit the Vancouver Police Department’s K9 Unit. Grilled chili cheese dogs, soda and chips will be served for lunch. Tickets can be bought at the academy, 2901 E. Mill Plain Blvd., room 110, for $4 in advance or $5 the day of the event. A class at the academy chose to support the K9 Unit through a series of fundraisers.
