Man transported to hospital after garbage truck vs. pedestrian crash

Pedestrian hit
A man was hospitalized Friday after he was struck by a garbage truck in the 10700 block of Mill Plain Boulevard, just west of Interstate 205, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
Police Sgt. Greg Raquer said the man was crossing the street outside a crosswalk when he was struck.
The man, whose identity was not released, was taken to a local hospital and had to undergo surgery for his injuries, Raqer said.
