Letter: Students can help prevent bullying

I go to a very small middle school and I know that the principals try to stop bullying, but who is really responsible to stop bullying?

The parents? Teachers? The counselors?

I have been bullied and know that bullying leaves mental scars that never go away. But people don’t know what is going on in the victim’s head after the bullying happened. I have friends who come to me after being bullied.

I’m the one who helps bring their confidence up and solve the problem. I’m sick of people who make my friends and me unhappy. Why can’t they help, instead of hurting other people?

I want more people to help stand up for their friends and themselves. So students are really responsible to put a stop to bullying. We are one big group; show support and let people lean on us, because we are the future.
