Letter: A call for new city leadership

Published: March 30, 2013, 5:00pm

With four Vancouver City Council positions up for election this year (including the position for mayor), all people living within the city limits who would like to apply may register at the Clark County Auditor’s Office during candidate filing week: May 13-17. Persons with the ability to use good common sense along with the ability to make individual decisions should apply. The ability to listen to and represent the people is a given and should lead to a strong election. More than one person is asked to run. Should three or more apply for one position, all will run in the primary to determine the top two to compete in the general election.

Many people complain how the city council votes on agenda items, yet few people come forward to challenge them, which they could and should do. We have a lot of outstanding persons in our community. Sign up. Get involved.
