PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Miami Marlins placed outfielder Austin Kearns on the bereavement list and recalled catcher Kyle Skipworth from Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday.
The veteran Kearns, who is batting .185 (5-for-27) this season, will miss between three and seven days. Skipworth is hitless in three career games. He was batting .143 at New Orleans.
