Gov. Jay Inslee signed a new bill into law last week, ending centuries of really bad words in Washington. The bill, which not-so-surprisingly was sponsored by Democratic Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles, bans the words "penmanship," "freshman," and "fisherman" from state nomenclature as being sexist, necessitating the removing of these and other words from all public state records. Kohl-Welles appears to think that this is the most important issue facing our citizens.
People of Washington, it's time we stood up and looked our elected officials straight in the eye and tell them they'd better start doing what we hired them to do and stop pandering to a vocal micro-minority that represents none of us. This is ridiculous.
