The Washougal School District has announced the hiring of a new business manager.

Brian Wallace, the current executive director of operations for Spokane’s East Valley School District, will join the school district on July 1. He will replace Rosann Lassman, who will retire at the end of the school year.

Superintendent Dawn Tarzian said she was “delighted” to bring Wallace on board.

“He brings an excellent understanding of the complexities of a district budget and comes highly recommended for his work ethic and being the kind of manager who participates in getting the work done,” she said.

Wallace and the district have verbally agreed to a salary of $95,000 a year.

He and his wife, Cynthia, have two children, both in elementary school.
